Dr. Christopher Brown resides in the metro Atlanta area, but maintains an active teaching and performing schedule throughout the southeast region of the United States. Currently, Christopher is the bass trombonist with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera in Tennessee, as well as the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra in Alabama. He serves as the Instructor of Low Brass at Young Harris College, and previously taught at Clayton State University as the Instructor of Music in Brass and Music Technology.

Christopher has performed with numerous professional and regional ensembles including the Alabama, Charleston, Tallahassee, and Southwest Florida Symphonies. Locally, he has performed with the Atlanta Opera and Atlanta Ballet Orchestras, respectively. Christopher has also appeared with the New World Symphony, the National Repertory Orchestra and was a fellow at the Atlantic Music Festival. As a soloist, he was a finalist in the Zellmer Trombone Competition and has performed recitals throughout the United States. As a chamber musician, he has performed in Weill Recital Hall at the prestigious Carnegie Hall and at the American Trombone Workshop. He has also presented at the Midwest Clinic and NACWPI Conference.

Christopher Brown received a Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University where he was a graduate teaching assistant to the trombone studio. Christopher earned a Graduate Artist Diploma from the Yale School of Music. He received a Master of Music degree from the Pennsylvania State University and was a graduate teaching assistant to the trombone studio. He also received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Akron.

Christopher's teaching and performing has created professional appearances in more than a dozen U.S. states. Internationally, he has performed in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, and even in Cuba. He has performed at the American Trombone Workshop, was a fellow for the Atlantic Music Festival, and attended the first ever Cleveland Trombone Seminar. Christopher has worked directly with many notable conductors like Carl St. Clair, Mei-Ann Chen, Helmuth Rilling, Ken Lam, and Peter Oundjian. He has collaborated with composers Eric Ewazen, Dan Welcher, Christopher Theofanidis, and Steve Hackman. Additionally, Christopher has shared the stage with many popular artists like Dianne Schuur, Jason Alexander, Morgan James, Allen Vizzutti, David Alan Grier, and Jiggs Whigham.

Christopher currently lives in the metro Atlanta area with his wonderful wife, Megan.
